Need to know how to get off Medroxypr ac

Went to emergency room 2 weeks ago for heavy menstrual bleeding and was given medroxypr ac for 2 months..now having extreme,bleeding from taking this medicine,no one will tell me if I can just stop taking it or have to be weened off,very frustrating,dr that prescribed has a number no longer in use so I can't ask her,pharmacy said they have no idea ask prescribing dr..so I need help,please.
