Forgetfulness is a common mental health condition that comes up as a part of the ageing process. I am of the opinion that your mother's current issues should be taken up for assessment to rule out the presence of Alzheimer's Disease (along with any other possible health issues) because if at all (by any chance) she is getting a positive diagnosis for that disease, medication and proper care can effectively delay any possible deterioration in her memory and related problems. You may consult a neurologist or psychiatrist for this assessment and the doctor need not be speaking any particular language that she understands.
