My mum had a stroke 5 years ago. This has left her left side of the body paralysed. My mum is also diabetic, Amongst other things, she has also been suffering from Tasteless mouth/tongue, causing her not to be able to swallow her saliva. This makes her so uncomfortable and unhappy. Is there a solution to this problem?

I guess u should consult neurophysician, because tasteless mouth can be consequences of diabetic nephropathy and paralysis.

You need to get her examined by an ENT specialist as well as a dentist. As regards the conservative approach, advise her to try to clean her tongue with her toothbrush only after every time she brushes that is so that meticulous oral hygiene can be maintained overall. Maintaining a good level of hydration is also equally important. Regards.
