I have attached the x-ray image of the fractured area(ankle) and highlighted the two parts of major fracture where implant is surgically added. Surgery is done, titanium rod and screw were inserted. My query is whether this implants must be removed later on? Also my brother is planning for hugger studies abroad and hence would he be affected by the cold weather due to these implants?

Implants can be removed after 18 months or preferably after 2 yrs if fracture is  united well. Better if going for colder countries.
