Mother's Nails are breaking usually

My mother is 60 years old.She is complaining like from few months that her nails use to breaks usually for hand and leg both.She has a work in water half an hour daily and no other problem (eg.Bp,Diabetes etc).Can you please suggest that is this a kind of vitamins deficiency?What need to be taken care for this. Thanks in advance.
