Lymphatic filariasis

My mother is facing issue with swelling in leg, we had consulted 5—6 years before and it was told disease is lymphatic filariasis which there is no cure. The swelling is increasing and now I need a doctor who is specialist in lymphatic filariasis and can help in cure infection. Please help and advise.

Hello firstly please report to Hospital for Admission. A midnight blood sample will be required to detect microfilaria in blood stream. If detected then treatment will start. If it was detected 5-6 yrs back then was treatment given . In your case medical college will investigate and treat as it is covered under Filaria Eradication program of GOI. Once microfilaria is Eliminated then plastic surgery will be required
