I have been checked for lupus before and my results were negative. Is it possible to be checked again but now have positive results? I have some of the symptoms such as the butterfly rash and malaise.

Hello Ma'am Butterfly rash and rash doesn't always symbolise lupus erythematous. Testing for SLE should be done through ANA profile ( anti-nuclear antibody profile) or ENA BLOT test( extractable nuclear antigen). These results don't vary with time. Once positive they remain positive for whole life.
Next Steps
If tested via above tests, kindly get the same and update the reports. Upload images of butterfly rash for further thorough understanding
