Lump in neck
I have a lump in the side of my neck. I am 17 years old and have had this for around a year maybe longer. It has only recently started to hurt. I have done the back thing of looking on Google at what it could be and now I am scared if it is cancer. My friend has the same but the lump is a bit higher and this turned out to be a salivary stone. I have been to doctors before but they said it's an infection. I don't know what else it could be
You seem to be having cervical lymph node enlargement which usually occurs secondary to infections of throat, scalp and skin. Usually they are benign and not much of treatment is required. Cancer is very very unlikely. You can undergo fine needle aspiration cytology of the swelling to confirm the diagnosis
