Joints Pain ( Rheumatoid Arthritis)
Hi Doctors,
My Dad has been facing joint pain and stiffness, He is not able to walk properly He has tried a lot of medication but its never improving. Finally we took all the test and was told that its a zero factor Rheumatoid, currently he is taking Metrol tablet and he feels better for 1 day with bearable pain, the next day he feels extreme pain till he takes the next dosage. Please provide your guidance as to which doctor I should visit, He is also complaining that he is not feeling hungry and his apatite has gone very low. Because of which he is loosing weight too. Kindly provide me some guidance as what it could be and which doctor I should consult with.
Is your dad diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis or seronegative arthritis? One would also have to look into which joints are more painful. You can see an orthopedic surgeon or rheumatologist who would start him on a class of drugs called Disease modifying affects (DMARDS) and anti-inflammatory drugs for his pain. Aseessment of vitamin D levels and uric acid levels will also be helpful.
