IV cannula

2020-01-12 13:02:40
Hi 12 days back my wife was admitted in an emergency ward where she was given some IV medicine and later the IV cannula was removed. The nurse suspected that a small end of cannula might have left inside, she was not sure as she found the size of cannula thread smaller! What to do now? Is there any symptoms which would have shown any embolism effects in this case??if that piece of cannula was left in her  dorsal  vein on wrist , will it travel to heart or brain or cause any hurt ? Is there any symptoms which will show either in acute or chronic ?? Is it possible that there could have no symptoms for 10 days in this scenario? Don't know what to do now? Please suggest me.
