Intense pain in left arm.

My mother has been facing intense pain in the left arm. Sudden jerks or moments are causing her pain which lasts for a few minutes and due to this pain, she is unable to do any kind of work which includes strength, and these days she is unable to lift her arm above her head. I want to know what could be the possible reason and is there any way she could reduce the intensity of the pain. She had this issue way back but she ignored and now she's facing the same issue.

Hello, The kind of pain you are describing could be due to a cervical (neck) neurological issue. It could include pain, tingling, weakness in the upper arm causing the inability to lift the hand. There could be multiple reasons ranging from degenerative age changes to probable disc protrusion.
Next Steps
the next step would be to go meet a neurosurgeon and get her evaluated.
Health Tips
any worsening of symptoms.
