Hyperpigmentation and melasma
I am 27 yrs old female. Last year some dark brown patches appeared over my cheeks, nose and my upper lips. I consulted a dermalogist and he said it's melasma n gave me one hidroquin whitening gel for my face to apply at night and to consume vitamin e capsule for a month. But no improvement, in fact it's getting more darker and larger in shape. It's also appearing over my eyebrows. Please help.
Melasma is difficult to treat but a lot of options are there. First and foremost, you have to follow strict sunprotection. Do not move out of house without sunscreen application 20 mins prior. Creams can be prescribed for melasma.. Please send photos for accurate diagnosis and treatment. Please don't use over the counter steroid containing skin lightening creams.
