Hyperintellectualizing and bipolar

Can hyper intellectualizing be a response to a mood shift? I'm diagnosed bipolar, it's just not a topic I see discussed a lot. I rarely get manic but if I do and I get upset it seems to be how I deal with it and it can confuse my therapist. I think they think I'm having a breakthrough when a lot of my insights are real but it's exaggerated and overwhelming.

Hello Does this hyper intellectualising occur on my during high mood phases? Hyper intellectualising could be a way you may perceive excessive flow of ideas and can certainly point towards a manic or hypmanic high provided it is combined with mood - elated or irritable for atleast about a week. If your diagnosis of bipolar has been confirmed and you are seeking therapy only, I would recommend taking a consult with an experience psychiatrist as well.

Health Tips
Preferably begin charting your mood on a daily basis, in a scale of 0-10, where 10’is the highest Doing this over 2-3 months will help establish a good mood chart
