I recently did a test with thyrocare without being prescribed to do so.
The homocysteine reading came at 37.50. The normal range is given as upto 30. What could be the reasons for increase in this level? How serious is this? My lipid profile, weight, bsl, etc are all normal. I am a non smoker for 3 years now.

normal value ranges vary from lab to lab... in general elevated levels of homocysteine increases risk of thrombosis, cardiovascular complications, ,renal dysfunction and fractures....
