Breastfeeding increases the risk of transmission of infection by 12-20%,in developed countries it is contraindicated as various formula based feeds are available , however in developing countries like India mother is given cART and advised to feed baby as this reduced the risk of infection transmission. Breastfeeding is better than mixed feeding in developing countries.
