High glycoslated haemoglobin

My father recently had a routine check up. Doctor recommended Glucose fasting amd Glycosylated Haemoglobin (HbA1c) Glucose F is 113 HbA1c = 6.5 % Is he diabetic??? Should he start preventing sugar sweets etc??

Yes. Hba1c of 6.5 means he is diabetic. He will require to start dietary modifications and regular exercises. Medicines may also be required.
