I did a routine yearly test for my 13 year old son who is a type 1 diabetic and beta thalassemia minor and all of his reports are fine except for the LFT ...his AST is 17 ALT is 10 uric acid GGTP alkaline phosphate all in range but his bilirubin is high ...direct bilirubin is 0.7 and indirect is 1.7 ...I did a test last year also and it was direct 0.6 and indirect 0.9 total was 1.5 and then he was very very unwell for a month in November and December and I did a test again in Jan this year and all other LFT parameters were in range except for bilirubin which was again high direct was 0.6 and indirect was 1.4 ...so his bilirubin has been consistently been getting higher from last one year should I be concerned
