Why does period flow increase in the years leading to menopause? Patient has No other symptoms like spotting between periods, large clots or severe pain. Just heavy flow. The periods lasts for 5 days.

It is due to hormonal changes which leads to brittle endometrium ,hence causing the bleeds. Most importantly endometrial cancer has to be ruled out .
