Gynocomastia in 18 yr old.

I'm 18 and have gyno since maybe 15 or 16 yrs old. Is there no option other than surgery? I'm pretty lean but still have gyno. Please reply , and I would appreciate if someone would reply not as a surgeon but as a friend. I really don't want to do surgery unless it's the last option.
