Compared to oral contraceptive pills, which has many side effects and barrier methods (condoms) which has failure rate relatively high, copper-T is safer, one time insertion (Opd procedure) and gives protection upto 5 to 10 yr(depends on which copper - T you use), and easily removable if you need it no more.
