Glucose level rise

My father is a heart patient and he never had sugar. It's been 18 days that he has been diagnosed with covid 19. After getting covid, his sugar level rose to 263. He's fine now and is under medication for covid 19 and glucose level (gluconorm). In hospital they gave him insulin. Will the sugar level fall? Will it be fine?

If he is non diabetic than his sugar rise may be temporary or because of steroids or other medicines given for covid treatment then he will be fine after recovering and discontinuing all medicines. But if he has been recently diagnosed with diabetes then he will need oral medication to control the sugars.
