Gastrointestinal

I had a colon resection done 10 years ago at the age of 13 for unidentified motility issues. Recently I have had serious pain in the area and similar issues that caused me to get the surgery in the first place. I was never diagnosed with any disease like Crohns or IBS. I am wondering if this is possibly a buildup of scar tissue causing problems or if where they cut the intestines may now be non functional, or if there is any related issue that could be occurring.

You have not mentioned about the biopsy(histopathology) report of the respected colon or about your post surgical follow up with your doctor, which is mandatory after any operation. You should consult a surgeon ideally your primary surgeon, or a Gastroenterologist, and get yourself clinically assessed and evaluated with tests which may include a CBC, OBT in stool and Colonoscopy, as advised by the doctors on clinical examination.
