try eating several small meals instead of three large ones whenever you can...Avoid foods that irritate your stomach, especially those that are spicy, acidic, fried or fatty... avoid coffee, tea etc... Avoid Stress as it may make your gastritis symptoms worse...consider calming activities, such as meditation, yoga etc...sleep with head raised position and have dinner at least 2 hours before sleep..take over the counter medications with above..consult physician if symptoms persists.

Hi there...I can understand your concern. But he will have to follow healthy diet if he wants to relief. You need to convince him that it is for his health he has to follow these things. Ask him to eat 4-5 meals everyday instead of 3 big meals. Avoid spicy foods, oily foods, outside junk foods, sweets and sugars as much as possible. Ask him to have plenty of water in between meals. Only little during meals. He can take pantoprazole 40mg once in the morning half hour before breakfast. You can also consulta general surgeon or physician for further evaluation.
