My 23 year old girlfriend suffers from corneal inflammation and uses FML eye drops. Can dexamethasone be used as an alternative to FML eye drops? Which of the two is better?

Dexamethasone is not advised for long term without doctor advice because it has many side effects e g cataract glaucoma etc so never use dexamethasone without doctor 's advice  where as Flurometholone is safe drug having negligible side effects but there is no medicine in world with zero side effects,in between if you don't require it stop&you may go for Pataday eye drops once or twice daily ,with regards

Hello FML is mild steroid and dexamethasone is hard steroid. I would not recommend you to use dexamethasone unless until your Ophthalmologist advises her. Both has their own merits ...In one disease FML is better and in other dexamethasone is better... Each Medicine has its indications
