I have enrolled for some course for which I need to provide fitness certificate . this needs to be signed by medical officer. Does this means only govt doc can do this.

Hello, yes medical officer post is in government setup but there are casualty medical officer both in government and private setup too he can give fitness certificate ,, it mostly depends on where exactly they asked you to get it. And please check if they are asked in particular anything about rank of medical officer.
