My mother who is 65 years old had cholecystectomy done on 27.07.2020.post surgery she developed fever ..there is low grade fever till now. There is serous fluid accumulation at suture sites, which is being drained n dressing is being done. All investigations are normal but urine culture is showing infection. Cbc count and blood cultures are normal. But TB platinum is coming positive. The physician is asking for ct scan abdomen but the radiologist is saying that Contrast ct scan can't be done as the patient has fever. So pls suggest can MRI be done in place of ct scan ??

What about culture from the surgical sight, please discuss with surgeon who has done the sugery or take a second opinion with a different surgeon.. Ct or Mri they trying to see if there is any abcess or pus accumulation inside the abdomen... Physician.. is asking for scan is surprising... Request the surgeon to suggest what is best.. When you have a non healing wound, deviat ing from that and trying to find another diagnosis (TB)is wrong... First wound should be cleared ...
