Esophegal Varices

Observations- Liiver CT scan normal, Fibroscan 10.4, platelet 1 lac, cirhosis "Unlikely" as suggested by doctor, Esophegal Varices, no bleeding yet, spelomegaly 13.7.What is causing Varices if Cirrhosis is unlikely? Doctor gave Beta Blocker, is it treatable? I am attaching CT scan report.

Hi It could still be cirrhosis or non cirrhotic portal fibrosis. But age goes in favor of cirrhosis. Ultrasound is better to pick cirrhosis than CT. If varices are large, one can go ahead with endoscopic banding. It's definitely treatable however may not be curable. Please meet Gastroenterologist or hepatologist. Regards Dr Adarsh CK
