My mom has external otitisfor 3 weeks now, so the Dr put ear wick again yesterday( Friday) but this time it was not well inserted(we can see big part of it) and has blood. I called him to make sure nothing wrong. He said she should keep it and put the drops on it til next visit Wednesday. Should live it even if it has blood? And even if we can see a big part of it out of the ear? Please help. Thank you.

Ear wick alone is not a treatment for otitis externa. Antibiotic drops are more important. You should keep putting drops over the wick as suggested by your doctor. Small amount of blood In the wick is not a problem
