Alcoholism may be a result of various factors and we need to treat the root cause to help someone get out of the habit. If drinking is too high, might need admission for withdrawal with proper counselling to help in long term deaddiction. Consult a de-addiction center where psychiatrist along with psychotherapist are available for long term management.

These are signs of depression. If the patient is drinking heavily, getting violent or suicidal one may consider admitting them to a rehabilitation centre.
