Drink Alcohol while having common cold

I have a small query. I am having cold today and planning to drink alcohol tomorrow. Can you please let me know if i can consume whiskey tomorrow and would it have any negative impact on my cold and health. I am not sure since on few websites they are recommending a little alcohol while having cold and not recommended on others.

Alcohol is a irritant to digestive tract which includes throat. Also alcohol increases blood supply to the nose. So your symptoms of cold may increase after taking alcohol. It is advisable not to consume Alcohol during episodes of upper respiratory tract infection
