1. Your emotions are constantly changing, and are not fixed. Trust that you will experience a pleasant emotion when you are feeling at your lowest.
2. There are sights, sounds, and experiences in life that have the potential to be invaluable to you.
3. Your ability to experience pleasurable emotions is equal to your ability to experience distressing emotions.
When you have suicidal thoughts, promise yourself that you will not to do anything right now, and give yourself some distance between thoughts and action. Avoid drugs and alcohol, since they can make suicidal thoughts even stronger. Make your home safe by removing things that could physically hurt you, like pills, knives, razors, or firearms. If you can't, please go to a place where you can feel safe.
