Connect with baby

I had a c-section delivery and my baby a month an half. Due to the operation I had restricted movement. In the 1st few weeks due to which I couldn't bond with my baby. Now my baby is more attached to my mom and when I try to sooth him, he cries. Please suggest.

I agree breast feeding , cajoling ,talking and having direct eye contact with the baby would help immensely.
