We need to weigh pros and cons

Nitrofurantoin per say is not a preferred drug for prostate infection and we would rather prefer floroquinolone group of antibiotics like levofloxacin or cotrimoxazole group which has better penetration in the prostate. Long term antibiotics are definitely needed in prostate infection. Using niftas ( nitrofurantoin) for long time does not have serious side effects.
