Chronic cough

My partner had seasonal flu after which I developed coughing up phlegm. Now, it's been 12 days of nagging cough. I have mucus out only in the morning and very little for the entire day. But there is a constant urge for coughing along with a wheezing sound of the throat. Coughing urge increases on lying down more than sitting up straight. No sore throat or fever. Showed to an ENT yesterday who prescribed Azithral 500 once a day for 5 days and Kofflet syrup thrice per day. But still not getting much better, though, had a large amount of thick cough in the morning. Any suggestions.

That thick mucus is from your paranasal sinuses. Please get a CT scan of your nose and paranasal sinuses and send me the images and I will advise you on next course of action.
