Chest Pain
My name is Saikat Das and I am an engineer. Right from the age of 16 I started smoking and now 9 years down the line I am having chest pain. On an average I smoke 10-12 cigarettes a day. But now I am really tensed whether I am suffering from any lung or chest related disease! For the last one week, I didn't smoke and I felt better. Today after having a cup of tea I couldn't resist myself and picked up a cigarette and started smoking and right after that I am again having chest pain. Smoking one single piece of cigarette is causing a hell lot of chest pain for me right now. Looking for some suggestions.

Hi. I understand your concern s. You will need to undergo a detailed examination and investigation like chest x ray and pulmonary function test which is needed for the diagnosis as well as to assess severity of bronchitis based on which treatment can be started. You can also be helped to stop smoking. Consult a pulmonologist for the same at the earliest
