Hi. Hurting yourself or getting angry at yourself is never the solution please understand that. It’s going to cause more pain and hurt. Your life is precious and you have to accept and face the difficulties, there is better future always. You can always seek professional help. I am happy to help you, counselling is important. You and your partner might have issues, like any other relationship, but please try and communicate honestly. Clear misunderstandings if any. Since you’ve mentioned, thinking about your past disturbs you but let me tell you it’s not worth it. Your past will always stay, but don’t let it overpower your present and future. It’s not easy to forget or dodge it, but acceptance is a process of healing. You have to talk about it to someone trustworthy till you heal. Address it, if your past is triggering you, it’s not fully healed. Seek professional help or speak to someone you confide in. It is okay and normal to want love and care from the outside world (be it our immediate family, partners, friends etc). But the first most important thing is for you to love and care for yourself more than anyone else. Don’t be so harsh on yourself. It can and will always get better. Just trust yourself and seek help.
