My mother, 60 years old, has been experiencing acidity, vomiting, and stomach pain. The doctor advised USG and MRCP, which revealed cholelithiasis and a dilated CBD measuring 7 mm. Her SGPT, SGOT, and GGTP levels are elevated, but lipase and amylase are normal. We are a bit confused as some doctors suggest placing a stent in the CBD first, followed by gallbladder removal surgery, while others recommend proceeding directly with gallbladder removal.
