My friend's baby who is 2.5 months old is not taking breast milk properly for past two days. She tries for few seconds and then stops breastfeeding. She is also having tongue tie.

Feeding Concerns with Tongue Tie: • Observing Patterns: It’s common for infants to have varying feeding patterns, but consistent difficulty may need attention. • Tongue Tie Impact: A tongue tie can make it hard for babies to latch properly, affecting feeding duration and efficiency. • Seeking Evaluation: If breastfeeding is consistently challenging, it’s worth having a pediatrician or lactation consultant evaluate for tongue tie. • Supportive Measures: Until seen by a professional, continue to offer comfort and try different feeding positions to see what works best for the baby. • Professional Intervention: Sometimes a simple procedure can release the tongue tie, improving the breastfeeding experience. • Continuous Monitoring: Keep monitoring the baby’s weight and diaper output to ensure they’re getting enough milk.
Next Steps
Remember, you’re doing a great job by seeking the best for your baby’s health and comfort. Don’t hesitate to reach out to a healthcare professional for support.
