If you have regular monthly periods, then you probably are ovulating every month. Less bleeding is seen in ladies who are on contraceptive pills. If that is the case, then stopping the pills will bring back the normal menstrual flow, or if you wish to continue with the pills, there is no harm with that, but periods will get lighter.
You should see a gynaecologist for blood tests, if the periods are getting lighter or irregular and less frequent with no obvious reason, as there may be problems with conceiving in the future.
