Black/dark brown spotting in pregnancy

I am 4 months pregnant. Yesterday I noticed some dark brownish thing mixed with white discharge. I got usg done. I am having low lying placenta. My gynaecologist is not in town. Please tell me is it a cause of concern. What should I do now? Will my pregnancy be continued? I am very worried.
