Biotin and Blood Tests

2022-08-20 00:47:07
I took Oziva plant based biotin supplement one night before having my hormonal and thyroid blood tests, as I read on internet that taking biotin supplement can interfere with lab tests and produce false results. Is it true and should I take blood test or not?

I could not find any reason why Biotin should interfere with your Lab tests. Biotin is a plant based neutriceutical. It is mainly Vit B 7. Biotin has 0.007% Protein It has 0.000% Fats and Cholesterol. Our hormones are either derivatives of Proteins or Cholesterol. Both the ingredients are missing from Biotin. Then how will it interfere with our Hormones assays and analysis? We should not blindly follow the Internet.

It should not. Avoid believing everything you read online. And check the fact with your treating Dr.
