hello mam.... The bartholins abscess requires complete excision of the gland and curettege under proper antibiotic coverage to prevent the recurrences. Post excision less chances of similar abscesses to be formed. Its better if u can get urself checked once again. The magnesium sulphate ointment might give u only symptomatic relief from the swelling if its there and is not of much use in presence of infection.
