A day after coming back from a long flight journey, I have developed a lower back pain on my right side which shoots up when I stand a certain way or sit a certain way. It is making it difficult for me to stand for long periods of time or sit in a certain way. What can be the reason for this and what are the remedies and medications possible

The symptoms suggest muscular spasm or right-sided lumbar strain, likely due to prolonged sitting during the long flight. Sometimes this can also irritate the sciatic nerve, causing sharp pain when standing or sitting in certain positions. It is not serious and usually improves with rest and medication.
Next Steps
• Avoid long sitting/standing; change positions frequently • Apply warm compress 2–3 times daily • Start Tab. Aceclofenac + Paracetamol twice daily after food for 3 days • Muscle relaxant: Thiocolchicoside/Chlorzoxazone at night for 3–5 days • Use topical gel (Volini / Diclofenac) • Gentle stretching once pain reduces Seek review if pain radiates to the leg, tingling/numbness develops, bowel/bladder issues appear, or pain persists >1 week.
Health Tips
Avoid heavy lifting, sudden bending, and soft mattresses for a few days.
