Are both connected morning erection adhd

Title: No morning erection for 3 years + ADHD meds not working — related? Post: I have not had morning erections for the last 3 years Around 3 years back, I had a UTI After that period, I was diagnosed with ADHD Since then, I have tried methylphenidate (different brands and dosages) I never felt significant improvement from the medication My concern: Is lack of morning erection linked to hormonal or neurological issues? Could this be the reason why ADHD medication is not working properly? Looking for guidance on: What tests should I consider (hormones, etc.) Whether both issues could be connected What type of specialist I should consult Thank you.

Hey ! It's good to have an opinion. Your morning eraction have nothing to do with your medication. Less or more your life style, eating habits, living styles, exercise etc are reasons that affects morning eraction. Yes, hormonal level are important for eraction. There are other factors too. It's good to have detailed evaluation from a psychiatrist (as you also have ADHD), before going for investigations. For more support DM on MindwithdrArchana on instagram

There is no direct correlation between adhd and morning time erection but if you have disturbed sleep it could also affect morning time erection. If your adhd is not responding to methylphenidate it could be either due inadequate dose of methylphenidate or wrong formulation or resistant adhd and another possibility is that are miss diagnosed and you are having some different issue but not adhd.

There is no direct correlation between adhd medications and morning erections. Morning erections depend on lifestyle factors like good quality of sleep, proper nutrition, regular exercise, manageable stress levels, coping mechanisms. It also depends on substance use like smoking cigarette and alcohol consumption as these can decrease the morning erection. Even level of testosterone in body can affect your morning erections. If ADHD medications are kot working you might need a higher dose, or change of medications, or revision of diagnosis. For better morning erection you need to improve upur lifestyle and diet.

Loss of morning erections for such a long time can sometimes point to issues with hormones, sleep, stress, or overall body functioning, but it doesn’t automatically mean something serious. It’s also important to know that ADHD and its medications usually don’t directly cause this problem, and similarly, this issue is unlikely to be the reason your ADHD medicines aren’t working well. These are most often separate concerns, though factors like poor sleep, stress, or low mood can overlap and affect both. A basic evaluation can help clarify things especially a morning testosterone level along with LH, FSH, thyroid, sugar, and prolactin tests. Based on results, further direction can be planned if needed. You can start with a psychiatrist for ADHD review and an overall assessment, and involve an endocrinologist if hormonal issues are suspected. If you’d like a more personalised evaluation and step by step plan, you can consult me.
