Appendicular abscess is a definite indication for drainage procedure. Medical treatment is only supportive. Depending on how much damage has been caused inside (inflammation / adhesions), an appendectomy may be carried out concurrently or at a later date (around 6-8 weeks) later, when the inflammation has significantly reduced. With a confirmed abscess it doesn't make sense to keep waiting for another attack of appendicitis, which may increase damage inside to the intestines. Please see a pediatric surgeon at the earliest and get the matters sorted out.

Hi there i understand your concern and feeling towards your health condition....appendicular access can be treated medically and surgically...it depends upon the clinical examination and sononographic findings..choice will be taken by your surgeon. But surgery is must if treated medically antibiotics are are given and surgery is preferred after six weaks..laproscopic surgery is minimally invasive than open surgery and it's cosmetically better as well...consult nearest surgeon they will do the needful.
