Antidepressants in 3rd trimester

I am 34.5 weeks pregnant and I am experiencing prenatal depression and anxiety. The depression is most worrisome because I have been thinking of suicidal thoughts. My OB told me I should consult with psychiatrist. But, is it safe for my fetus If I begin antidepressants so late in pregnancy? I have read that starting it late in pregnancy may cause a withdrawal in baby once born.
