In laparoscopy we create pneumoperitoneum for the operation. Post cholecystectomy pain can be because of post cholecystectomy syndrome or as jotted down previously by you the radiation towards the shoulder can be due to diaphragmatic irritation which can be seen because of the gas being accumulated under the dome of diaphragm. The gas gets absorbed automatically within 24 hours normally. Sometimes it can also take upto more than a week It can also be as a reason of bile being accumulated under the dome.
