Dear user,
I understand that u have very infrequent seizires and you have been started on two medicines. I will prefer that you should get investigated first with a long term EEG..may be 24hr EEG to know and characterize the type of epilepsy. There are two main broad categories of epilepsy: Focal and Generalized. We should know which type a patient is having so that the medicine can be given accordingly. After you get a diagnosis of type of epilepsy, the second step will be to find what triggered your third event ..the most common cause of breakthrough seizure is missing the medicine. So if u didnt miss the dose of medicine then the other cause may be that u not having the right medicine ..then we should change the Medicine according to the type of epilepsy you have. The aim should be to keep the patients on one medicine at the maximum tolerated dose. So I don't actually feel that second medicine should be started so early.
I hooe you find my opinion useful. Wish you a healthy life.
