His work and research was acknowledged in the famous Ophthalmology Book series of Sir Stewart Duke Elder. He also helped set up eye institute at PGIMER Chandigarh in 1960. In 1962 he resigned from PGI and started the first private eye clinic in Chandigarh. The lecture hall in the Indian Medical Association building, Chandigarh is named after him.
