My name is Sagar, 26 years old from Mangalore. I had undergone both tympanoplasty and mastoidectomy surgery twice in 2016 and 2018 from other reputed doctors. Even after surgeries and taking medicines for a long time, I used to get frequently infected in the same ear and there was a hole in my eardrum again. In August last year, the infection got more severe and it continuously started discharging even after taking antibiotics.

One of my office colleagues recommended me to consult Dr. Sampath Chandra Prasad Rao for an expert opinion. First, I got in touch with Dr. Rakshitha Kamath, one of the team members and a consultant at BHNS. She initially examined my ear completely by listening to the entire story for more than an hour at her OPD and suggested to get an expert opinion and arranged an appointment with Dr. Sampath sir within 2 days. Before meeting sir, a complete audiometry tests were conducted to confirm my natural hearing ability. My parents and myself were very much worried as I had already been through surgery twice. Dr. Sampath sir ensured and made us feel comfortable before anything. We were happy that both of us were from the same place 😊. Sir patiently listened to entire medical history and briefly examined. He explained the ear structure, the issues I had and the loopholes in the previous surgeries. He assured that we are in the right hands and my infection would be completely removed and cleared by him & his team at BHNS as he is trained to perform skull base surgeries for years at Italy. At the beginning, it was decided to do a canal wall down approach of mastoidectomy without any delay. I thank Dr. Sampath sir for all his help, support and guidance throughout this phase.

I thank Dr. Rakshitha Kamath, as she took utmost care in my pre-surgery period. She was very helpful and always available to discuss and sort out any doubts regarding the surgery and procedures during her busy schedule. She spent hours over phone providing me with the mental support and assurance.

Dr. Sampath sir performed an 8 hrs long surgery at Apollo Spectra Hospital and was successful in removing all the infection & restructuring my ear drum. Purely because of his expertise, he did a canal wall up procedure without altering my ear canal as against the canal wall down decided earlier. I’m really grateful to the entire team of Dr. Sampath sir, which includes Dr. Niveditha, Dr. Rakshitha, Dr. Lavanya, who were part of the surgery.

From the bottom of my heart, I’m very much happy with Dr. Niveditha who took care post-surgery. She took the time to listen to all the queries, doubts post-surgery and made me feel confident of early recovery. She is approachable and is always available over messages and calls. I truly admire her attitude of replying to all my messages within minutes and providing necessary advice.

I fell ill during the recovery and was in constant touch with both Dr. Niveditha and Dr. Rakshitha. I recall that Dr. Niveditha replied immediately to one of my messages at night 1:30 AM. This shows the commitment of the team towards the patients.

I was recently diagnosed with a congenital defect in the skull base causing Cerebro Spinal Fluid(CSF) leak through my nose. This condition was persisting from 6 months and I was told that it could be treated through an endoscopic surgery.

We were looking for a skull base surgeon who had performed CFS leak repairs very frequently. We were told that ENT surgeons in India normally get to handle 3-4 such cases in a year and to look for a surgeon who has performed this procedure day in and day out. Our quest ended with DR. SAMPATH CHANDRA PRASAD RAO.

We came to know about him through my cousin who also happens to be an ENT surgeon. On our consultation, Dr.Sampath explained me and my family in simple terms about the condition and the findings of my CT scan. He also explained in detail the surgery procedure and the different techniques he might use to seal my defect. He patiently answered all our queries and also guided us on the post operative care and precautions required. He seemed very confident with the procedure and also mentioned that he has handled these cases multiple times before. We were totally convinced to get the surgery done through him on our first consultation itself. We are based out in Bangalore. Since the procedure needed a lot of post operative rest and follow ups, we were reluctant to travel out of state and was extremely relieved after meeting Dr.Sampath.

The surgery has gone well and the CSF leak has stopped now. I am on my path to recovery. We opted for Apollo Spectra Hospital. Dr.Sampath is still following up with my healing. In every follow up session, he has explained the healing process in detail with a video of my endoscopy and also answered all our questions with patience.

Would also like to mention Dr. Kavitha from Dr.Sampath's team who assisted and over looked the surgery. She constantly followed me up and was always available to guide on post operative do's and dont's. She has been very comforting and cleared all our doubts during pre as well as post surgery.

Our quest for a surgeon for skull based, middle ear surgeries ended with Dr. Sampath Chandra Prasad Rao.

The morbidity associated with the disease was extremely high due to the location of the tumour and involved various nerves. On our very first meeting we spent nearly 2.5 hours with the Doctor. He explained to us all the procedures involved and the associated complications with pictures. It took us only 2 meetings in order to go ahead with the surgery.

Dr. Sampath took us through a detailed, step by step information after which we had no queries to seek further clarification. Our second meeting therefore was scheduled only to finalise the dates and the place of surgery. We were totally convinced that if I had to undergo a surgery, it had to be through him. His detailed explanation during consultation helped us prepare ourselves mentally in order to go through this complicated procedure.

Dr. Sampath was so precise and meticulous in his diagnosis and the associated morbidity. It happened to be an 18 hour long surgery and we are extremely thankful for the Doctor and his team for the way they have handled such complicated surgery with utmost care. I was told that post surgery, (18 long hours) Dr. Sampath had the patience to explain the entire surgical procedure to my spouse.

Dr. Sampath ensured no nerve was compromised during the surgery which gives me so much hope to recover from the morbidity. We went through the surgery at Manipal Hospital and needless to say, we were extremely happy with the pre and post operative care extended by Manipal hospital under the able guidance of Dr. Sampath. All the Doctors, nurses and the support staff are extremely empathetic and took really good care. Would also like to mention Dr. Anupama for all the comforting before the surgery, Dr. Paritsoh Pandey & his team who did the Embolization. Dr. Rhea and Dr. Anoopa from Dr. Sampath’s team who took utmost care during my stay at the hospital. I am on my path to recovery and continue to visit Dr. Sampath.

I had a small lump near jaw under earlobe which started growing faster in months.I had booked Dr.Sampath as he was available nearby.Firstly,he explained the health issue clearly.He told it is a parotid lesion and suggested for US Guided FNAC and UT scan.The results showed up to be pleumorphic adenoma.The lump was from deep lobe of gland.I could not meet doctor in person but he recommended surgery (parotidectomy).Trust me ,I met the doctor after the surgery.

We had lot of confidence on Dr.Sampath who is expertise in skull base surgeries.It was explained to us about preserving the facial nerves as part of parotidectomy.I would like to thank Dr.Sampath chandra prasad Rao for doing surgery successfully.

I would strongly suggest to go with Dr.Sampath chandra prasad Rao for ENT who is expertise in skull base surgeries.I also suggest patient and their family to have patience of waiting to meet the expertise doctors (they do have lot of commitments and will not make any one wait unnecessarily).
